Value4All
VALUE4ALL will create a data aggregation platform to incentivize data sharing and create quality datasets. On one hand, customers will be able to scan a QR code located at the stores to register information about their transactions through a short form (what you bought today, at which time, how was your experience). In return, they will get tokens, which will allow them to earn rewards, discounts or other advantages for their next shoppings, which will encourage them to share valuable and real information.
- Motivation for the project: VALUE4ALL addresses the following challenges: technical difficulties to access data sharing infrastructures, lack of fair rewards to data owners/producers (especially individuals and small businesses), unclear data governance practices, no matching between data offers and requests in marketplaces, lack of trust in data intermediaries.
- Generic use case description: A local business wants to get data from customers, so generates a form and a QR code to show at the store. Customers scan it and earn rewards for answering the survey. Datasets are created in compliance with Gaia-X and IDSA to be consumed by the businesses and shared in larger data ecosystems.
- Essential functionalities: Platform administrator (business association): Configure the data to be collected in the platform. Define rewards to data providers and participating businesses. Local business: Generate QR code for surveys. Access retrieved data and analytics. Citizens: Scan QR code to access surveys. Collect reward tokens and redeem them.
- How these functionalities can be integrated within the software ecosystem: There will be a data intermediation platform integrating the functionalities.
- Gap being addressed: Data are nowadays core assets, not only for companies, but also for everyone of us as individuals. We usually think of dataspaces to be used by large companies, but local businesses and individuals could profit from them too. Buyers (end users) have no incentives to share their data.
- Expected benefits achieved with the novel technology building blocks: Enhance the local economy, generating positive impacts for both citizens and small retailers. Introduce citizens and businesses to the use of decentralized technologies. Creation of new (data-driven) business models.
- Potential demonstration scenario: The proposed pilot will be in the city of Logroño, where Arsys is based. The same model can then be transferred to other cities and regions, not only in Spain but also in the rest of the EU countries. The platform can be used in any other sector with a need to generate datasets with data from users.
