Tenclave

Tenclave aims to build a modular open-source trusted enclave capable of applying programmable cryptography techniques—such as Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) and Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE)—to multiple data sources without exposing raw data. Centered on energy efficiency, the project will deliver two reference implementations in a real-world Local Energy Community (LEC) living lab in Peón, Spain:

  • ZKP-based energy flexibility settlement: users prove consumption reductions to receive rewards, enabling demand-response services at both microgrid and network levels.
  • FHE-powered battery output computation: encrypted consumption and storage data are processed in real time to optimize cost, efficiency, and return on investment.

An open architecture will provide modules for data gathering (connecting to CTIC’s data space and a LoRaWAN deployment), data harmonization, programmable cryptography services, and blockchain connectivity for verifiable settlement. A human-centric approach (UCA Framework) ensures stakeholder co-creation, cultural value integration, and iterative UX validation. By leveraging previous TRL5 research and TrustChain ecosystem components Tenclave will reach TRL7, showcasing privacy-preserving, interoperable energy applications that can be replicated across other domains.
