The TAC! (Traceability and Trust in the Agrifood supply Chains) project has the objective to provide an end-to-end solution able to track and trace the food production process and to enforce transparency by disclosing information about the products to the parties of the chain and to the end consumers. The solution is enforced by a Blockchain ledger and an IOT sensors framework which are the key to ensure that quality requirements are met.
- Motivation for the project: The Enismaro technology is essential for TrustChain by ensuring reliable data sharing, enhancing data discoverability, and verifying data provenance via IoT and blockchain. It supports small producers, improves market transparency, and upholds TrustChain’s human-centered, trustworthy data exchange principles.
- Generic use case description: Enismaro leverages IoT sensors, blockchain, and smart contracts to enhance food supply chain transparency and traceability. This technology ensures real-time monitoring, compliance, and authenticity, addressing key industry challenges and meeting consumer demand for quality and sustainability.
- Essential functionalities: The solution is enforced by a Blockchain ledger and an IOT sensors framework which are the key to ensure that quality requirements are met. The solution allows the parties to sign paperless "Smart Contracts" related to KPIs and quality conditions captured by the IOT sensors. The Smart contracts have legal validity as they are registered in Blockchain.
