TruE-MAN

TruE-MAN develops a complete framework for energy-efficient delivery of multimedia services over multi-operator B5G networks. It ensures optimal resource usage and leverages Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) to provide secure, transparent, and trustable agreements between parties, especially when dynamic resource sharing is needed across operators. By using open-source technologies such as OpenSlice and private Ethereum blockchain setups, TruE-MAN creates an automated, decentralized platform that supports multimedia delivery to underserved areas. The platform is built to support SMEs and telecom providers, and follows a user-centric design process. The solution focuses on service orchestration, SLA enforcement, and dynamic onboarding of external infrastructure, offering environmental and socioeconomic benefits.

- Motivation for the project: Current 5G networks lack trusted and dynamic, energy-efficient mechanisms for temporary resource sharing. TruE-MAN enables secure and sustainable multimedia delivery using DLT.
- Generic use case description: Temporary sharing of networking infrastructure resources between operators in a transparent, energy efficient and trustful way, to deliver video content with QoS guarantees.
- Essential functionalities: SLA registration and enforcement via DLT, cross-provider resource discovery and orchestration, dynamic infrastructure onboarding, energy-aware service scaling, and trust scoring to enable secure and efficient multimedia delivery.
- How these functionalities can be integrated within the software ecosystem: Through open APIs (e.g., OpenSlice), Ethereum-based SLAs, and compatibility with GSMA standards for service orchestration.
- Gap being addressed: Lack of trustable, dynamic, interoperable, and energy-efficient resource-sharing mechanisms across telecom providers.
- Expected benefits achieved with the novel technology building blocks: Energy savings, cost optimization, secure cross-operator service delivery, and support for network operators.
- Potential demonstration scenario: Video service delivery to remote locations using temporarily shared resources integrated via OpenSlice and verified via blockchain.
