“AI Sessions: Navigating the European Commission’s AI Act”: A Day of Insight and Collaboration with Trustchain

The Trustchain’s team was thrilled to participate in the “AI Sessions: Navigating the European Commission’s AI Act” event, and what a dynamic and informative day it turned out to be!

We joined forces with a vibrant community of AI enthusiasts, experts, and stakeholders to explore the implications and opportunities presented by the European Commission’s AI Act. Our primary goal was to explore the AI Act from a multitude of stakeholder viewpoints, and we certainly achieved that. We were privileged to hear from seven insightful speakers who shared their expertise and perspectives, sparking engaging discussions among the 386 attendees. The level of interaction was truly impressive, with nearly 200 interactions on Slido demonstrating the audience’s keen interest and active participation. The event was structured into two key segments: a panel discussion and a roundtable.

The first segment, “Panel Discussion: Navigating the AI Act, addressed the critical question: How can startups align with regulations, build trust, and still stay competitive? We were especially proud to have Ruben Roex from our partner Timelex contribute his legal expertise to this discussion.

The second segment, “Roundtable: Public Funding for AI Startups – Challenges and Success Stories, was led by Tajana Medaković Dautović, TrustChain’s Project Manager at F6S. This roundtable focused on the pivotal role of public funding in the AI ecosystem. Startup founders, researchers, and investors shared their personal experiences, shedding light on the complexities of navigating EU funding opportunities. We were delighted to see Despina Elisabeth Filippidou from DOTSOFT, representing Aurora Minds, a Trustchain Open Call 2 project, participate in this conversation.

The event underscored the importance of proactive engagement with the AI Act, particularly for startups striving to innovate responsibly. We learned that compliance can be a powerful driver of growth and that access to public funding is essential for fostering a thriving AI ecosystem.
