On January 28, the Trustchain Consortium hosted the session “How the Blockchain Services Infrastructure of Spain (ISBE) empowers projects to build innovative blockchain applications,” bringing together industry experts to explore how compliant-by-design blockchain infrastructure can enable trusted digital services at scale.
This session explored how ISBE enables the development of trusted, scalable blockchain solutions with regulatory compliance built in from the start, ensuring transparency, security, and trust. ISBE is a strategic initiative driven by the Community of Madrid and implemented by Alastria, designed to support production-ready digital services across both public and private sectors.
The webinar featured insights from experts in blockchain infrastructure, Web3 development, and compliance:
María Ruiz Molina, Head of Blockchain Innovation at DigitelTS
Antonio Sotomayor, Technical Director of ISBE
Miguel Gómez Rodríguez, Blockchain Architect at Telefónica Tech
Miguel Angel Calero Fernández, Lead Emerging Technologies at Izertis
During the session, speakers demonstrated how ISBE is being built as a robust public-permissioned blockchain infrastructure based on Hyperledger Besu, offering business-grade performance and interoperability. Key topics included compliance by design aligned with regulatory frameworks such as eIDAS2 and GDPR, an innovative digital identity approach using Verifiable Credentials aligned with European standards, and practical pathways for enabling real-world public and private sector use cases.
The session also outlined upcoming collaboration opportunities and potential pilot initiatives within the Trustchain ecosystem.
