On 5 February 2026, the TrustChain community gathered in Ljubljana and online for a full-day event marking the culmination of the TrustChain project. The event showcased key results, technologies, and lessons learned, bringing together stakeholders from across the digital ecosystem to explore the future of trust in Europe.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in thematic sessions, live demonstrations, and discussions covering:
Decentralised identity as a foundation for digital trust
Privacy-preserving technologies designed into systems from the start
Interoperability to overcome fragmented trust ecosystems
Sustainable economic models for long-term digital infrastructures
Governance and democratic participation in digital environments
Energy-efficient and responsible blockchain design
A dedicated round table also explored the implications of eIDAS 2.0 and the Digital Omnibus Regulation (DOR), addressing both opportunities and challenges for Europe’s evolving digital framework.
